Ride for World Health is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit charitable organization founded in 2004 by a group of medical students and health care professionals. Last year, the Ride departed from San Diego, CA on a 3,700 mile journey, and ended in Washington, D.C. This year we will begin the ride in April from San Diego and end the ride in Washington, D.C. in May.
Along the way, we will host lectures at major medical centers and community health clinics promoting awareness regarding national and international health issues. While Ride for world Health garnered influential attention with their biking journey, it has developed into a strong collective organization with national support from medical students, physicians, health professional, cyclists, and others committed to global health. R4WH seeks to encourage people to become active global citizens and make tangible changes to their own health.
Last year, with vigorous fundraising efforts, Ride for World Health raised over $60,000 to support our beneficiaries, the Global Health Access Program and The Pendulum Project, which provide sustainable community-based health care solutions to areas around the world.
