He is the proclaimed “King of EC“ when it comes to rapping, and he also hosts “The Hip Hop Hot Spot" on the 89.9 ECSU radio station. In the year 2007 SILAS became a member of ASCAP. He was recently ranked the 1 rapper in Elizabeth City, NC and surrounding counties by “Myspace.com†with 42,674 views and 32,981 plays (and counting). In the summer of 2008 SILAS performed with his former group Tre Kingz, at club "Throwbacks", "The American Legion" club, as well an performance on the strip of downtown Atlanta, GA. Earlier in the year before Tre Kingz was formed SILAS and Preacha performed at the "08' Hip Hop Iz Alive concert". He rocked the mic at club Royal Suite, and set the radio on fire wit Fly Ty on Flight 69. He also performed with U.P.S. at the "Hip Hop Iz Alive Concert 2007" and had NC blazing with the single "Alarm". SILAS was born in the summer of 1988 on Aug, 2. He was raised in Elizabeth City, NC. He started rapping at the age of 7, off and on with his older brother and cousin. By the age of 13 he had already decided that music would be his passion in life. He later met another young man, who at the time wanted to take up rapping as his profession, who also served as a great help to the development of SILAS as an artist teaching him that being a rapper is not about what you say but how you say it. As time goes by, the deaths of three child hood friends, and cousins made SILAS determined to leave the small city that depressed him. Soldiers Intuition Leads Against Society is the meaning for the acronym SILAS.
