ok, here goes nothin'...I am a big fan of music; here's the catch - the music has to move me. It doesn' t have to be a particular kind of music, but it has to hit me. I like music that takes me somewhere. Whether it's to a memory of mine or to an emotion that the author felt when he/she wrote the song; it has to take me there. Here is an example... Gun's and Roses' "sweet child of mine" ... I have loved that song from the day that I heard it but let me take you to where I am coming from.
One day I am at my work.. out in the hot sun in the middle of summer in the heat of the day, slaving away for like $10 an hour. I would give anything for just the slightest breeze. Out of nowhere, a cool breeze hits my back; light, but enough to bring a sigh to my lips right at the same time as the unmistakable guitar line from "sweet child of mine" graces my ears. To this day, if that song comes on the radio, I can still feel that breeze on my back and for that moment I am somewhere else and I am ok. Music has to take me somewhere.
