Bram Timmer is an award-winning art director, designer, and photographer that specializes in innovative new media design. Bram applies his creativity and expertise across a variety of media, including: web design and development; e-learning and interactive media; print materials; packaging; information architecture; illustration; and photography. Bram’s past and present clients include commercial and government institutions of all sizes, including Mastercard, Nivea, Kraft, Hershey, SC Johnson, CTV, CFL, Hewlett Packard, AMD, Adobe, Bombardier, Applebee's, Hilton Garden Inn, TELUS, Home Hardware, EnCana, Alex Cuba, Jason Harrod, Meridian Credit Union, University of Calgary, Mount Allison University, Calgary Stampede, FITC, Fever Films, Unplugged TV, National Film Board of Canada and many others.
In addition to his freelancing career under the alias Beside and photography under the alias Aside, Bram has founded and operated Dutch Blue Media and two/signed, provided inhouse design and development services for: White Iron, an award winning digital media agency in Calgary, AB; Webtek, where he worked as Director of Flash Development; and Blatant Media, where he provided animation, print, interactive and other services to support their e-learning platform.
Bram has a wide variety of interests and passions that inform his design work, including architecture, art history, digital culture, and visual arts in various mediums. In addition, Bram is an active contributor to Ventilate and Digital Abstracts, both well-respected design portals, and is Chief Editor of Digital Softbox Magazine. Bram participates in a number of design and art-focused events, groups, and exhibits, such as the Pixel Gallery, Bargate Gallery, FITC, Terminus1525, inter-action, Flash in TO, and others.
Bram is currently writing Monarch Series' first publication entitled Design Monarchs - Inspiration Forming Empires. The book features some of the industry's highest regarded design professionals and agencies.
