About Me

I got my first set of drums when I was thirteen years old living overseas. I was in my first band in Germany when I was in 10th grade with Andy Weyl, who is a well known jazz pianist in Boulder.I went to Berklee College of Music, where I was lucky enough to have private lessons with Alan Dawson, who was with Dave Brubeck at the time. After I left school, I lived in Washington D.C. and toured and recorded for a number of original bands, including Bill Holland & Rent's Due, and Bluesman Catfish Hodge, playing venues such as The Kennedy Center Concert Hall and Merriweather Post Pavillion, the legendary Cellar Door in the D.C. area, The Other End and Folk City in New York City, Pine Knob Music Pavillion in Detroit, Tippitina’s in New Orleans to name a few.Among the acts I’ve opened for: Bob Seger, Steve Martin, Elvin Bishop, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Woody Shaw, Jimmy Witherspoon, Rick Danko (The Band), George Thorogood, and many, many more. Some of the brilliant musicians I've been fortunate enough to have an occasion to share a stage with; Bonnie Raitt, Freebo, Tracy Nelson, Al Kooper, Howard Wales, Steve Goodman, and Joan Armatrading.Since I’ve lived in Colorado, I’ve toured Japan, Okinawa, and Hawaii, playing U.S. Air Force bases, been to California twice to record being produced by organ wizard Howard Wales (Truckin’, Green Eyed Lady)(www.howardwales.com), and also was lucky enough to play on a track of Howard’s CD, Complex/Simplex (Buster's Blues). I have played with some excellent bands out here, including Wildcard, BWB, Fredi & the Soul Shakers, and many more. I am very pleased to announce that I have just joined Julia Bryan, an amazing singer/songwriter as a member of her very experienced band. Please check her out at www.juliabryan.net or www.myspace.com/juliabryanmusic. She's going to be huge!!I am endorsed by local drum company Viper Drums (www.viperdrums.com) and am very proud to be associated with them. I also have over 30 years of recording experience, along with extensive road work.
