If I didn't own any pitbulls I probably would be terrified of them. And why that would probably be, is most likely the same reasons why other non-pitbull owners are terrified of them. A few reasons such as, the media for the most part only reports pitbull breed accidents versus other types of dogs; Music videos tend to portray pitbulls fighting; "Thugs" or "gangster" prefer to have pitbulls images versus other types of dog at their side; Advertising agencies hardly ever hire pitbulls for their ads and commercials, hence disallowing the public to build a positive and friendly pitbull image; And the size and massiveness of pitbull naturally look scary many times. Unfortuntely, all these uneducated and unfounded reasons have led to a severly discriminatory actions towards pitbulls. When one's fear is conquered and diminished about pitbulls, one will find that these dogs are possess high intelligence, are loyal, strong, and calm, and are not naturally violent. Like any breed they need to be trained consistently, and provided a loving and attentive home. DO YOU WANT THE TRUTH? OK, HERE IT IS: Pitbulls that are dangerously ferocious, capable of attacking and killing anything in it's path ARE UNFORTUNETLY TRAINED BY THIER OWNERS TO BEHAVE THIS WAY. Sadly, the lives of these pitbulls are horrible because of their owners, and their fate is hardly ever a good one. Certainly, these dangerous dogs are severly abused and abondoned if they remain alive. Think about this: From my own experience, if society continues to approach and treat pitbulls in a negative and violent manner, then OUR behavior is contributing and increases the mental instability of these highly intelligent pitbull dogs.
A veterinary fact is that a pitbull's intelligence can reach up to the same as a ' five (5) year old child's intelligence-this has been scientifically proven.
Please report any pitbull dog fighting in your neighborhood. If you hear loud music and possibly faint dog barks in the background, it might very well be a pitbull dog fight-PLEASE REPORT IT RIGHT AWAY...

Michael Vick is released from jail. I say LEAVE THE PIT BULLS ALONE. THEY DESERVE LIFE AND LOVE AS ANY OF GOD'S CREATION DOES.
I support the Michael Vick Federal Dog Protection Act that prohibits any convicted dog abuser from owning, possessing, or going near dogs or the breed they abused. I say we pass this NOW!!
