About Me

I am a Make-up FX techie as well as an Animatronics technician and Puppeteer (I guess I can add miniature model Builder to the list now). Worked on films and TV such as, X-Files, Dark Angel, Smallville, Battlestar Galactica, Lake Placid, Freddy vs Jason, Final Destination 2, I Robot, X-Men 3, Killer Instinct, Wrong Turn2 and Fantastic Four2 to name a few. I have had the pleasure of working for some of the coolest shops and Bosses in town; Lindala Make-up fx, WCT Productions, Schminken Studios, HealyFX, Dave Asling Miniature FX, Pipeline Studios, Iguana Designs, Avatar Sculpture Works, Masters FX.

Nandegirl Logo(above) Nandegirl Teaser Poster(below)
After I made the teaser poster, I noticed something very familiar about the image, and I couldn't place a finger on it, until I was watching Much Music, then it hit me, these girls resemble the SpiceGirls, D'oh, so it is back to the drawing board again, you will see a new version coming soon.
This is a trailer and some teaser promos for my friend's film called Unnatural check'em out... I did the CGI (lol, ok...end self promotion)

Now, many of you have sent me Emails asking me why I chose the name Vinnie "The Squid", and to be honest, I have no idea...lol, weird, eh? Perhaps, subconciously, I wanted to be part of the Mafia or something, I dunno.
It has come to my attention that another person or persons is using the name Vinnie "The Squid", and he's also in the Vancouver area. Damn, small World, eh? His Myspace page is really well done, you can check it out here, just click the picture of Vinnie the Squid.
I'm starting to get into CGI...and I'm loving it, Well, I shouldn't say "...starting to get into it", 'cause I've been doing it off and on for about 5 years now... but I'm starting to realize that my ideas can be created fairly quickly using CGI. You see, I have no patience (note* thanks for the correct spelling, whoever you are)... I really like to see progress at a rapid pace so I think, for me, CGI is the way to go. I'm so not there with mastering any of the programs yet, but I'm learning...not bad for someone with no animation or computer trainning, eh? (yeah...I'm a Canadian!) Below, you will see an example of my CG, lol, yup, it's a flying penguin named Gimorah...
CLick here to see some of my other CGI "work in progress" ,
There isn't a whole lot up yet so check back from time to time and you may see more stuff.

Animatronic test of the unused Pumpkinhead for Scooby Doo2.
Please click on the teenie tiny image to watch clip.

This beautiful Pumpkinhead was sculpted by the very talented Jamie Salmon of Avatar Sculpture Works I'm not sure who painted it, but it was awesome, the animatronics were done by myself and the amazing Jim Gawley. and I did the programming and setting up the Gilderfluke System to do the lipsync. It was all put together at WCT Productions.
