TUBUKU

About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V3.6 !
TUBUKU are an experimental rhythmic metal band based in Wellington, New Zealand. Their music incorporates unpredictable structures with alternative time signatures and brutally delivered lyrics to create a unique sound. Their Stage show is a high energy onslaught of heavy energetic riffs and physical energy. They currently have two 3 track Promo Releases named "Haemophilia" (2004) and "Taming of the Moth" (2005) which are available from Real Groovy or by contacting the band ([email protected]).

TUBUKUs music is an energetic and unpredictable combination of simple colourful build ups, heavy but subtly complex rhythmic drops and balls out heavy metal progressions which when combined with the Gumbles honest and brutally delivered vocals creates a huge sound. Its heavy music that anyone can relate to and when performed live is impossible to ignore.

Since the formation of the current line up TUBUKU has been working hard gigging around the Wellington area, building up a solid local fan base and a reputation for a tight and energetic stage show. TUBUKU have also been able to embark on a few tours around the country, managing to grab the attention of metal and hardcore fans and promoters around the country. TUBUKU have managed to produce their own music video with the help of Massey University Design school and some of their more dedicated and generous 4th year students, which was released in conjunction with their second 3 track promo release "Taming of the Moth" over the summer in conjunction with their first full national tour. The tour did alot to raise the profile of the band among the NZ metal community and gain them a strong nationwide reputation. In 2006 TUBUKU will be hitting the studio to record their first full length CD release which will be released by the end of the year.
