One Minute Reel
Hi! I'm an actor and a salesman. Which is which and who is who does make life interesting sometimes. A more professional, dedicated "actor" website (www.rdouglaspurcell.com) is up--but still a work in process. Anyway, welcome to it! You are listening to a voice over demo, which is mostly me along with L.A. Angels manager, Mike Scioscia (as himself), Roger Craig Smith and Catie Purcell. My demo speed reel is here (above), a clip from a film called THE SILENT, an older, longer demo reel and a recent internet commercial for CBS Sportsline.com. On stage, I am currently playing "Major Roberts" in Black Angels Over Tuskegee in N. Hollywood (March 28 - May 2, 2009), and recently played "Murray" the small-time talent agent in the New Voices Playwrights Theatre production of Christmas in Pakistan. I play the down-and-out, ex-boxer, tough guy character "Joe" in the feature film, FAITH HAPPENS (www.faithhappens.com), which should be released soon. The short film CASSANDRA, based on a classic Greek play ("The Trojan Women" by Euripides) was featured at the '08 San Diego Latino Film Festival among others. I play the "Agamemnon" character (a King), a not so nice General in this award-winning contemporary adaptation. Thanks for visiting my space! -Doug
