ah....books....i love books....i enjoy reading novels ( i know, i know, but they are soooo easy to read!), especially historical fiction.... but i will read pretty much anything....i have a bad habit of rereading books over and over and over and over....which sucks because i remember most everything i read.........i also read incredibly fast. My favorite novels include: A Million Little Pieces and My Friend Leonard (James Frey), Memoirs of a Geisha (a man..david maybe? read it twice), Diary of Drug Fiend and Moonchild(aliester crowley), Queer, My Education, and Junky (William S. Burroughs), Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood (rebecca wells, along with Little Alters Everywhere, and the newest, Ya Yas in Bloom), The Red Tent (anita diamont), I have read alot of John Irving, my favorite being A Widow for One Year, Anne Rice (favorite: Queen of the Damned or Pandora [i know it's supposed to be cliche or cheesy...but it's really not...well...most of the time...]), Thomas Hardy (Jude the Obscure), Wally Lamb (This Much I know is True), The Cobra Event (can't remember the author, but he also wrote the Hot Zone) and yes, yes, i have on occasion enjoyed a Nora Roberts book or two....I average a book per every 2 days or so....i read when i smoke. i get to stop outside for 5 minutes and those are my breaks. I love historical fiction, favorites being anything by Phillipa Gregory, "the other Boleyn Girl," and i also love retellings of fairytales. recently read "Wicked" and am planning on reading the rest of the collection soon. I also enjoy the Marquis de Sade on occasion. really, give me a goddamn book. PLEASE. i have nothing new...
my beautiful children. my husband. my grandaddy. he's amazing. anyone who doesn't let their circumstances dictate who they are or who they turn out to be. make your children's lives as wonderful as you can. keep them safe, they are precious. i hate it when people bitch about their childhood and how if this had been different or if this hadn't happened they wouldn't be this way...tough shit. no one has a perfect childhood. get over it. when you get down to it, you really do make yourself. make your children's lives better than your own was. Find something to do and do it well.
