Hey! I’m Jess and I'm the author of TAKE THE REINS (Canterwood Crest #1). TAKE THE REINS is the first in a series of eight books from Simon & Schuster's Aladdin MIX.I'm also a freelance writer for newspapers and magazines. You'll find over 100 pieces of my work in magazines such as Girls' Life, Guideposts Sweet 16 and The Writer.I'm a former homeschooler who started college at sixteen and graduated with a BA in English from Florida State University in 2007.I love supporting the Humane Society, Shriners Hospital for Children and horse-related charities. I had a spinal fusion at Shriners in St. Louis in 2000 and I'm president and co-founder of "Str8 Spines for Shriners" a support group for children and teens facing surgery. For several years, I volunteered with the Effingham Co.
