About Me

Hollins graduate and Pulitzer Prize winner Annie Dillard describes Hollins as a place "where friendships thrive, minds catch fire, careers begin, and hearts open to a world of possibility." Nationally acclaimed for its educational program in the liberal arts and sciences, Hollins University offers an extensive undergraduate program for women and distinguished coed graduate programs -- all in a picturesque, small, private college setting. Founded in 1842 as the first chartered women’s college in Virginia, Hollins attracts students from 47 states and 10 countries. As a small liberal arts university, some of Hollins’ distinctions include a nationally ranked creative writing program, one of the oldest study abroad programs in the country, and extensive internship opportunities and hands-on research in the sciences.from www.hollins.edu.
