Mitchell (Mick) Scott, aka “Osmosis†while performing at local poetry venues, is a talented writer; from Clarksville, Tennessee. His will to keep getting better at his passion has really improved his knowledge on word play and metaphors and his hunger to take the stage in front of the masses to express his work. On March 17th, he participated in his first slam at The Twisted Tongue Poetry Slam in ATL, in which he describes as a "rush" to be on stage in front of eyes, which seemed like thousands focused on him. Although, he did not win, he enjoyed the atmosphere and being there to perform. His future consists of participating in upcoming slams and trying to start a poetry venue and a future slam in his own hometown. Aiming at perfecting his skills he decided to take the stage December 2006. In January 2007, he decided to begin the creation of his first album to accompany his follow up book of poetry to "The Sunshine from Behind a Mountain" with his new material in "The Black Soapbox." The word “soapbox†is derived from the olden days when someone had something to address they would stand on a platform (soapbox) and make an impromptu speech to the masses. “Black†illustrates the ethnicity of Mick Scott, who simply says, “I am a brother with a lot to say through prose and poetry.†Take a journey with him as he takes you into his psyche to teach the world about religion, love, gang nonviolence, black thought, and more inside the pages of “The Black Soapbox.â€MOVE ALL HTML CODES (IMAGES/WIDGETS/SLIDESHOWS/VIDEOS) BELOW THIS CODE
