About Me

It's easy to see why Sharon Cumbee list Tanya Tucker, Patsy Cline, Bonnie Raitt and Willie Nelson as her musical influences. Cumbee has Tanya's spunk, the let-er-rip vocal ability of Cline, the red-haired passion of Raitt and ..... well, okay...she doesn't look or sound a thing like Willie. But she has certainly paid her musical dues!Born in Charleston, South Carolina and raised in a small town a few miles inland, Cumbee's personality can perhaps best be described as "Southern Belle-meets-swamp water-fed country gal" Cumbee started working with her own band at the tender young age of 14, traveling every weekend to gigs up and down the coast of Carolina and Georgia. A few years later she was one of the featured country performers at the Paramount Carowinds theme park, on stage in front of thousands of people from all walks of life, yet Cumbee was able to entertain them all. She also performed at dinner theaters around Charleston, playing the role of Patsy Cline in the acclaimed " Rock 'n Roll Heaven" show.Later, Cumbee spent many years "on the road again" between South Carolina and Nashville. During that time she scored two Top 50 hits on the Cashbox country music charts. American Country Radio nominated Cumbee as Most Promising Female Vocalist for the MRL Awards, and she opened shows for artist such as Gene Watson, Billy "Crash" Craddock and Ronnie McDowell. Finally, Cumbee decided to make things a little more permanent, making the move to Nashville in May of 2000. She spent four years in Nashville, honing her songwriting skills and growing even more as an artist. Her love for the Carolina coast pulled her back home where she continues on her musical journey! Her passion and maturity speak for themselves. Now let Sharon's music speak to you!
