I started raving at age of 14; and from that day on wanted to be a dj. Going out every week and listening to other sound systems has help to develop me. I never had a music preference until i discovered that a lot of the reggae music I was buying, were were also covered by soul artist/groups, and that's what got me into buying old soul music... What an investment!!
Back in the day when i was raving, you either went to a soul or reggae club... What I have learnt throughout the years is that, every dj has something about them that you can learn from...I got my first break on the Raregroove Scene by keeping my own events and putting myself on the bill; also not being afraid to use the best dj's of the day. You need that self belief, and I've always had it. One of the worse things about being a dj (apart from the gossip) is when your doing your set and the crowd aren't with you... It can be lonely... lolMy advice to up and coming dj's; to serve your apprenticeship, you'll need to play, at as many parties as possible (by yourself) this will stand you in good stead in the future, and remember, be humble, as your never to big to learn.Latest Edition consist of myself and Emai, the MC/Voice of Latest Edition...Latest has had many past members including, Desi G and Barry White, Jazzy J, Eastender and Big Gee the manager....
