Formed in Rome in the early eighties, in 1985 the band releases its EP "The Long Loud Silence" with the Dutch label Rave On. Following a European tour and the dismantling of its record label, Astaroth moves to Los Angeles in 1987 in search of a new record deal. After encountering countless difficulties, rejections and day to day hardships, the members of the band part ways, each following a separate music career in the States. In 2005, after an 18 year hiatus, Shining, Max and Jan decide to join forces again. In 2006 the recording of ten previously unreleased songs begins in Los Angeles. The release of the new album is planned for the fall of 2007.... it is now October 2008 and the album is not complete yet, alas. The instrumentals are all ready, but the vocal tracks have not been laid down yet. We have tried numerous vocalists and haven't quite found the one that is the perfect match. Bear with us as we go through this painstaking process. In the meantime we are playing a preview of a new song, in its instrumental version, on rotation in our song-list.
