if identity art is passe, then art drawn from experience is certainly cliche. i throw myself down the throats of both unapologetically. most of the themes i work within are female-centric in imagery, but attempt an understanding of our duality as women in a world where we are expected to constantly define and defend what makes us feminine or feminists. it is a thin line we walk between grotesque and delicate, and so often i go tumbling from one to the other that the notion of duality is not just natural, but necessary.
