Matthew

You met me at a very strange time in my life.

About Me

The Rebirth of my R6
I consider myself a lucky individual. There aren't many people in this world that get to accomplish some of their dreams or goals they set for themselves, but thankfully I have been able to. Two of the biggest things I've dreamed about doing since I can remember are learning to SCUBA dive, and own a motorcycle. Just over two years ago I found myself with the time and the money so I concentrated on getting certified to dive. It was everything that I'd dreamed it would be and I became totally hooked. I'm now a certified Advanced Rescue Diver and have logged over 50 dives. The other big goal in my life was to learn to ride, and own a motorcycle. Thanks to a good friend I now own a '01 Yamaha R6 and let me tell you its amazing to sit on that thing and crack open the throttle. The bike and I saw our first track day late in '06, but we will be doing quite a bit more of them in '07. I don't play around on the street, that's what the track is for and I'm addicted to it.
Theres other minor goals I've set for myself, some a little far fetched, some more plausible, I'd love to run with the bulls in Pamplona, attend Carnival in Rio, go Sky Diving, backpack around in Europe (hell I'd just love to get out of the western hemisphere), see the Great Wall of China, go hang gliding, see more of the Appalachian trail, be in Savannah for St. Patrick's Day, and attend Fantasy Fest in Florida. I can already cross off Bungee Jumping, Mardi Gras in New Orleans, and driving cross country (did it twice actually) off the list.
I'm your typical IT guy so some weeks I may put in a regular 40 hours, others I may be doing 60+, it varies based on need. I really like my job though and have been very lucky with the opportunities I've been given. Work is a priority to me since it supports my expensive habits, but I'm by no means a workaholic. The good thing about my job is how flexible they are with me as far as my hours, and time off. If they weren't there is no way I could do some of the things I do.
Another big interest of mine is racing (the legal sort, none of this street racing crap). During the race season I typically spend at least one weekend a month at a track working for N.A.S.A which is a road race organization. It's a lot of fun seeing all these cars on track and getting to know the people involved. I've made some truly great friends through working these events for the past 5 years, and I must say my life is truly better for knowing them.
When none of that stuff is going on I'm your basic fun loving guy who enjoys spending time with his friends. Honestly I don't care what were doing just so long as we're together and everyones having fun. For me it doesn't matter whether its outdoors or indoors, I'm equally comfortable in both environments, and as long as it has the potential for fun I'll give it a shot.
