About Me
What is PARA.DOX?
PARA.DOX clothing is an indie company based in London, who are preparing for a launch in the summer of 2007.
What's so special about PARA.DOX?
The older generation of people - parents, teachers, politicians - are consistently blaming the youth today for causing trouble and doing things which they don't understand. What they forget is that the world today is so complex, it is never made clear how people should act in order to be 'normal'. In order to alienate us, they say that we are confused.
When you are a child, you are never sure how your actions will affect the world around you and therefore you learn through a series of contradictions and paradoxes. Society today is in a constant and complex paradoxial state, where nothing and everything makes sense at the same time. No wonder we are confused.
Our aim is to show people the world as we see it, using motifs and designs inspired by youth culture and urban life. We take pride in approaching fashion from the perspectives of young people and are always looking for new ways to represent urban culture in our clothing.
In short, we are taking fashion back to the youth.
What kind of themes does PARA.DOX draw inspiration from?
Although our work is strictly 100% original, we draw most of our ideas from the urban culture in which we live in and in particular, the essence of streetwear. Inspiration comes from subjects as diverse as Che Guevara, Martin Luther King, Frank Sinatra, William Shakespeare, hip hop, rock, Japanese and Korean street fashion, the Middle East, manga, comics, pop art, BAPE, adidas and many more.
