Let's talk about gear...
Acoustic Guitars: Martin D-35, Guild JF30-12 Jumbo 12 String, 1950's Silvertone, Line 6 Variax Acoustic 700
Electric Guitars: Line 6 Variax 600, Gibson SG '61 reissue, Chandler RH-2 Lap Steel, Jerry Jones Single Cutaway, Fender Stratocaster, Gibson Les Paul
Amplification: Vox AC-30
Signal Processing: Line 6 PODxt Live, Fulltone Full Drive, Ibanez Tube Screamer, Univox Micro Fazer, Line 6 DL4 and MM4
...and don't forget the EBOW!
My entire live rig is comprised of the Line 6 Variax 600 connected digitally to a PODxt Live floor processor and plugged straight into the mixing desk. Some may think this approach is a compromise, but I can't imagine playing live any other way. I can change between tight ryhthm sounds to effected leads and even acoustics with the press of a single footswitch. I can even use 12 string sounds or open tunings whenever I want. Yes, I am affiliated with Line 6, but I really am a true believer...
