Emotions of a journey to the country of a designer at the peak of his career, who is the creator as well of sites such as Crobar, Boudha Bar in Paris, and Olivia Valere in Marbella...
He even thought of putting a bed, where everyone can relax before jumping up to the dance floor. As a rule of thumb, one puts a piano, at 'You' one has chosen a bed... This gives you the idea.
Replicas of Vasarelli paintings, Knoll or Kartell furniture, the curves of Enzo Aarnio or Panton. Tapped metal {but the wines are impeccable}, wood, apple green and lemon yellow, well thought lightnings all around, round mobile curtains, sphered doors, it's a permanent array of phychedelic design placed on a spunged fuschia fabric.
Change on
They changed everything. Not just a little painting here and there and two carpets at the entrance, no... they really changed everything. Arriving at this spot, renowned for its well-established nightlife past, they initiated a tornado which emptied everything, changed the walls from their existing sites, redistributed the volumes, poured concrete, took away pillars, and recreated a space capable of wellcoming a new spirit, a new fantasm offered to everybody.
Because that's what is meant at 'You', to propose a nightly fantasm... a real change of environment where obviously the most sponteaneous party starts, music and the crowd willing.
Only 4 You
Offer the right elements: Not only a Club but also a design and ideas which incite to joy. Move on two levels in the rooms and corridors of 'You' is like going from hedonist nonchalance in a cosy couch or seated on soft fabrics, taking away the stress of the city, to the cloakroom of the Seventies, where orange mixes with yellow as if it were to remember John Steed and Tara King. And then by turning towards the heart of the Club – the dancefloor – enlaced by warmly lighted alcoves and close to a very large bar which resembles more to a modern metal sculpture rather than the traditional counter.
You, because eveybody is expected there...
the open doors wellcome both Gucci outfitted customers, those in home-made clothes, those who have chosen for the Strelli garments, or just orned by a no-name branded jeans, as long as there is laughter and style, there is entrance.
U or You
You, because the english word is one-fold, a notion which sticks to the policy of the club's staff. Opening to a multicultural and intercontinental public is a reality right from the beginning, likewise spots one encounters in London and Chicago. A mix in the decoration, a mix in the public, a mix in the glasses, a mix in the music.
You, because you are you and I am I...
or You is You all, and You all is what is of the essence.
Another nightclub? Not just a club, a club-bar-lounge multi-levelled with a design unheard off.
But also an impeccable sound structure calling for a perfect sound... strong and, most probably unique in Belgium. Unlimitted LCD screens, projecting creations which participate to the lightshow. Really, not just an ordinarary club. It's a spot to live a party, be it in Church or baskets. A scene for a clip showing what nightlife is all about.
Expensive? Yes, if you are a Veuve Cliquot consumer. No, if not.
And U? U because of You evidently.
But also because of the curve of U. And the again, because U stands for 'Univers Unique and Unitaire'
Resume
In a handfull of lifely colors and curved furniture, a new club opens its doors and enhances you on its music. 'You' orange and 'You' yellow, rose or green, a path covered by soft fabrics and tapped metal, entirely the Seventies. Colors, where even getting lost, leads to partying. Everything is new, from the walls to the sound system, the bars, the stairs... so that the stroll will be long and nice with a public and a music made of mixture. The design plays with time when the public and the sound play with various continents and different styles, it's the freedom of the mixtures which creates the magic.
