About Me

Confirmed Artists Saturday
Oakhurst
Oakhurst is a Denver-based international act with deep Appalachian roots and highly original songs that fuse traditional bluegrass with indie-rock and a citybilly attitude. The band's sound is more rustic and rocking, and less jazzy and jammed, than the typical hybrid bluegrass found in the Rocky Mountain Region. Oakhurst is one of the hardest working bands in America, performing over 200 shows per year. So far, Oakhurst has hit 20 states and 5 European countries and has already received invitations for two European tours and several major festivals in 2007. Even though their tour schedule is incessant, the band never stops playing. On off days the boys of Oakhurst take to the streets, or festival grounds deploying their Rocky Mountain Guerrilla Grass style, making some new friends, promoting shows and moving a few CD's.Along the way the band has entertained crowds as large as 5,500, played on the Xingolati Groove Cruise, Wakarusa, Hookahville, Barenaked Ladies Ships and Dip Cruise and moved over 7,500 CD's. Over the course of their career Oakhurst has shared stages with very diverse national talent such as Nickel Creek, The Flaming Lips, Barenaked Ladies, Yard Dogs Roadshow, Bela Fleck, The Ditty Bops, The Radiators, Junior Brown, The Hackensaw Boys, Ekoostik Hookah, & Guster. Oakhurst has also shared the stage with Colorado legends and emerging talent as well. The list includes Yonder Mountain String Band, Devotchka, Rose Hill Drive, the Motet, Pete Wernick and Vince Herman.
Victor Barnes
Victor Barnes, of Northern Colorado, has been wearing out shoes on dance floors from Seattle to New Orleans with their original style of bluegrass-infused music since 1999. When they're not playing with national acts like Yonder Mountain String Band, The North Mississippi All-Stars and Railroad Earth at venues across the west, Victor Barnes can be found serving the needs of their loyal fan-base at venues throughout the Colorado Front Range. Recent live appearances by Victor Barnes on local radio programs such as Planet Radio, KRFC's Radio Days and KCSU have spotlighted the breakneck speed at which their popularity has grown. Victor Barnes also took part in the Humboldt State University sustainable living fair(SLAMfest) and closed the Oyster Ridge Music Festival. Victor Barnes success has resulted in the production of their first full length CD, Bad Weather, released in early 2006. Victor Barnes is heading back to the studio in early 2007.
Helping Phriendly Band
Formed in 2004, The Helping Phriendly Band has been performing Phish tribute shows across the midwest. The band's goal has always been to perpetuate the positive energy that Phish spread for over twenty years. An emphasis on authenticity while still maintaining a strong sense of spontaneity is the essence of HPB.

Whiplash String Band
Whiplash String Band is an all acoustic band that showcases fine instrumentation and singing on standards and fiddle tunes. But the band also features original songwriting and some unexpected covers from an all acoustic, six-piece band – bass, guitar, mandolin, banjo, dobro and fiddle. There’s really something for everyone in this band.
Spring Creek Bluegrass Band
The Colorado-grown Spring Creek Bluegrass Band is a dynamic group rapidly emerging on the bluegrass scene. The band, which describes itself as Rural and Cosmic, began in 2004 in western Colorado. They quickly made their mark in the Gunnison valley as top acoustic musicians with unique vocals and soulful harmonies.

The Williams Brothers Band
The Williams Brothers were molded on the streets of Oakland, California during the seventies (the only "white boys" on Salisbury Street) listening to their parents vast blues & country vinyl collection, the funk that flowed out of boomboxes (pre hip-hop), and the psychedelic folk rock that blossomed in the East Bay Area during that time.

Zuvuya
Featuring Michael Travis of the String Cheese Incident
and Jamie Janover of Zilla

Zuvuya is a trio featuring Michael Travis of The String Cheese Incident, Xander Greene and Jamie Janover.Zuvuya is a Mayan term for the universal wave of energy which surrounds us all. Understanding the Zuvuya gives us an expanded awareness of who we are, connects us with higher levels of consciousness, and restores the memory of the infinite possibilities of our being. Creating this understanding is the purpose of the unique instrumental trio called Zuvuya. The collaboration began when drummer Michael Travis and Xander Greene first met in Crested Butte, Colorado in 1999. Travis and Xander played together only a few times over the next several years, as Travis was often on the road with his main musical project, The String Cheese Incident. In early 2002, Boulder musician and 2002-2003 national hammered dulcimer champion, Jamie Janover, joined the band. Jamie's diverse talents for adding unique rhythms and harmonies to the Zuvuya mix solidified the trio's sound. These three self-taught musicians used spontaneous expression to manifest change and growth in both themselves and their listeners.Zuvuya has an unusual instrumentation. The band members switch instruments several times throughout the night. Travis (drums, bass), Xander (guitar, drums) Jamie (hammered dulcimer, drums, mini-kit, percussion), rotate on who plays drums or bass at any given point, occasionally playing 3 drum kits at once.

Motorhome

Late 2004, Matt Thornton and Matt Mahern sit in a Fort Collins bar with red walls and sip drinks named after hell and Elvis Presley, discussing how their band could, quite possibly, take over the world.Motorhome, dreamed up over firery martinis and heated conversation, is now in the process of doing just that. On the path to world domination, Thornton and Mahern picked up local mandolin expert, Darren Radach, who also brought along his accordian and love for hair bands. Motorhome now faces the world a full army of five with two guitars, mandolin, bass, and drums.

Alan Vasquez

I am a one-man band based out of Chicago that creates music for the soul. In a live setting, I loop all the instruments, which range from Acoustic & Electric Guitar, Bass and an array of electronic equipment, to create a full sound that I have designed. I’ve been touring for two years and already have some big shows to place under my belt. I have opened for bands such as Keller Williams, Jazz Mandolin Project, The Big Wu, and Groovatron. I also played the Summercamp 2005 festival in Chillicothe, IL. I’m am continuing to push on to see where my path will take me. Whether it blows up or crumbles, I’m going to enjoy every breath of it

Holden Wofford and the Hi-Beams

Halden Wofford and the Hi-Beams’ classic style of honky tonk has a language and culture all to itself, but only takes one quick lesson to learn how to love for a lifetime. The twang of the steel guitar, snap of the snare drum, thump of the stand-up bass and rippin’ electric guitar solos mix with Wofford’s distinctive vocals to create a sound that is familiar yet purely original. Ringing out all along the Front Range of Colorado and beyond, Wofford’s wavering tenor conjures up images of Hank Williams Sr., Buddy Holly and Bob Wills.

Trucker's Daughter

Honky-tonk music. Straight up. No chaser. A genuinely original mix of stone country private-label numbers and classic tunes from the legends (Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash … you know the rest). Based in Fort Collins, Colorado.
