Born in San Diego, California, James Galvez, music arranger, composer, producer, and engineer has been in the music business since he was 13, when he composed and produced an original jingle for Sea World. By high school, James toured with his high schools’ Music Tech Ensemble throughout California, performing at theme parks including Disneyland. At age 17 he composed and produced the main theme for KVIA channel 7’s morning show, “Good Morning El Paso†and “Eyewitness News†in El Paso, Texas. Also, he composed and produced promotional music segments for Pepsi Cola. Moreover, he composed and produced various jingles for Jammin’ Z90, the 1 hip hop and R&B radio station in San Diego, California. ____________________________________________________________

In April of 2003 James collaborated with his longtime friend Frankie J and not only co-produced his first solo album debut “What’s a Man to Do,†but was also faced with the challenge of completing this record production in 30 days. This album was released in May of 2003. One of the tracks on this album, “Don’t Wanna Try†not only debuted on the Hot 100 Singles sales chart at 10 with a bullet but also the Spanish version of this smash hit song “Ya no es Igual†was nominated in April of 2004 for Latin Pop Airplay Track of the Year at the Latin Billboard Music Awards and earned James a BMI Award in April of 2005. ____________________________________________________________

James has also worked with Alicia Villareal, Cruz Martinez and A.B Quintanilla y los Kumbia Kings. In September of 2004 he won a Latin Grammy for his participation as an arranger and musician on Alicia Villreal’s album “Cuando el Corazon se Cruza.†Before this, in October of 2001, he composed and produced music for A.B Quintanilla y los Kumbia Kings and his musical composition, “Te Di†appears on the “Shh†album which was released in November of 2001; and “Count on Me†and “Don’t Wanna Try†appear on the “4†album, released in November of 2003. ____________________________________________________________

Prior to his collaboration on record productions that have earned James a Platinum Record, Latin Grammy, and BMI Award, he partnered with M-Audio/Avid, the leading provider of digital audio and MIDI solutions to produce Sample CD Loop’s for their Pro Sessions library. In August of 2002, he produced Latin Street and Latin Element and both were released for worldwide distribution in August of 2003. In 2004 Apple selected sample loops from these sample CD’s for their Loops Content CD to be included with all Apple computers for Garage Band, Soundtrack, Final Cut Pro, and Logic users. “Latin Street is a standout,†writes EQ Magazine. Following in 2004 James produced Scratch’n Elements Drums Volume 1 and it was released in January of 2005.

In February of 2006, James partnered with Venevision International to compose and produce music for VeneMovies and VeneMusic. The 12 original pieces of music completely composed by James Galvez for the seductive Latin soap opera, “Bellas Y Ambiciosos†was not only customized by James to fit each character of this soap opera of VeneMovies; but he also produced a 12 song CD titled “Momentos Eroticos by James Galvez†for VeneMusic. This album was released in June of 2006 and is distributed by Universal Music Latino. In April of 2006, he composed and produced an original orchestral composition that tied action, terror, suspense, and romance for the main theme song of VeneMovies. Also, he composed and produced this main theme song in tropical salsa, cumbia, banda, musica ranchera, Latin pop, and flamenco. In November of 2006, he composed and produced “Alegrias Compartidas,†the main theme for the Latin soap opera “Travesuras del Corazon†of VeneMovies. ____________________________________________________________

Currently, James continues to partner with Venevision International as a songwriter, composer, and producer. Also, James is mixing, mastering, and producing a record production for Cave, a Latin rock band based out of Tijuana Baja California Mexico as well as First Class Fiction, a pop rock band from his hometown, San Diego, California, who have appeared and performed on MTV. Andy Quinn, one of the members of this band is also the lead guitar player for Frankie J’s tour band. In addition, James is producing a second volume of his Scratch’n Elements loop library CD among others. Finally, James currently operates and manages Logictone Music, Inc., a music production and entertainment company that he founded in 1998. In 2004 he launched a special events rental division. In 2008 he is looking forward to impact the Latin, Regional Mexican, R&B, and international pop music markets as well as conquer the video game industry. ____________________________________________________________
