Kickball Superstarr (KBSS) is an alternative-rock band, based out of both Crawfordsville and Lafayette, Indiana. Drawing from such diverse musical sources as the Beatles, Nirvana and Elvis, the band has forged a highly original indie-rock sound which, while sounding fresh and new, can claim any popular music from the latter half of the twentieth century as an inspiration.
KBSS has participated in several regional festivals including Glitchfest 07, the MDA Cruisin’ City Music Festival and most recently, the 2008 LayFlats Arts & Music Festival. KBSS has had the pleasure of playing alongside such notable regional acts as Xero Sum, Hybrid Glitch and Waltz For Venus and The Holland Account.
Kickball Superstarr have established themselves as a headlining act right out of the gate and have won over the local crowds with their potent, catchy original tunes as well as classic but uncommon cover songs by everyone from Elvis to Green Day to Prince. Because of this versatility, KBSS can easily play individual sets of heavy, moderate or light rock, including acoustic performances, and are able to fit in well with nearly any venue or crowd.
The group is made up of Tony Page – vocals/guitar (The HunXXX, Bone-Dog), Jon Turley - bass/vocals (Gritty Kitty, Frank) and Marko – drums/vocals (Hungie Bungies, TFH). Over the course of the past two decades, all four members of KBSS have lead their own successful bands as singer-songwriters and logged countless hours on the road, in the studio and out on the street promoting local music events. This combined experience and talent truly makes Kickball Superstarr an alternative-supergroup that stands apart from the rest and delivers 110% every time they play a show.
Kickball Superstarr can provide over three hours of music and sound-reinforcement suitable for most small venues.
