About Me

Social Phenomenon would be my opinion of MySpace. After much contemplation, I decided to join the 200+ million blogsters. I honestly believe that I am too old to be a member, however, my 15 year old son and his friends assure me that a "milf" like me should DEFINITELY be a part of this. After that comment, I quickly googled MILF. I know, at 44 I guess I am considered a late Baby Boomer or an early Gen X'r and I really SHOULD have known the definition of MILF. Now thanks to Google, I do know and I DO NOT concur with them.At any rate, I absolutely detest the "about me" catagories. What exactly is supposed to be in this area? And more importantly, does anyone REALLY care? After I typed everything "about me", I ended up deleting most of what I wrote because I'm certain I will pale in comparison to the other millions of members. I am not certain WHY I would even care if I did. I guess seeing the words "divorced mother of 3....self degradative sense of humor......associates degree.....attended Miami U.....working at a local radio station" less than impressive.I am VERY happy being a Mother of 3, don't get me wrong. I guess the "D" adjective still bothers me for some reason. Let's face it, it IS somewhat of a failure. No matter how anyone rationalizes their decision to part from a loved one, I still consider it a failure. Not saying I didn't learn from the entire experience. I would compare this to failing a test. You just finished the test and you are confident that you pulled at least a B. Then....(insert dramatic organ music here) F. YES....the big one....F. That's the analogy I use for divorce. However, you learn something.....Hopefully....and isn't that what life is all about anyway?I am sick and tired of not having a voice in Washington, sick and tired of special interest groups and corporate lobbyists running our country, sick to death of the image Bush has created of our country in the eyes of the rest of the world, sick of fear tactics to control us and have us forgive the abomination known as the Patriot Act which tramples the freedoms we were founded on, sick of people being forcibly detained and possibly tortured in Guantanamo Bay with only hearsay evidence, sick of high medical bills, sick of people who refuse to take personal responsibility and sue at the drop of a hat, hurting us all in the long run. I'm tired of hearing that we can't do it that way because it has always been done this way. I'm tired of politicians who make promises that they forget before they've even stepped off the victory speech podium. I'm tired of people who have always had plenty thinking they know what is best for those who have never had any, much less plenty. And I'm tired of pretty speeches from those same privileged people talking down to or pandering to those who have nothing but votes. I want someone who understands from first-hand knowledge what it is to be trampled on, slighted, treated like filth without good cause. I want someone who has, as others have put it, slogged it out in the trenches. I want someone who will stand up and FIGHT for me and others who do not have the influence to stand up and fight for ourselves. I want someone who is willing to hash things out with foreign powers who don't necessarily agree with our point of view. I want peace. I want prosperity, or as near to it as I may attain. In short: I WANT CHANGE.

My Interests

Anything in Print, Writing, Radio, Music, Reading...preferably non-fiction, Internet, Poker, Incubus, Beer, Cooking, Playing Guitar (a tyro at best), Playing Piano, Singing, Bald/receding Men, Apple Computers, Wine, Graphic Design, and Sounds..... simply listening...pausing at times to REALLY Listen....wind chimes, music, my kids playing outside, birds, a distant train whistle, the traffic sounds from I75, was that my stomach? I exercise this sense because my Dad was deaf (damn near) as he grew old. He hated this handicap and constantly reminded me to NEVER take hearing for granted. "In deafness you lose people...in blindness you lose things" That was his quote, not mine. I truly hope I never have to know what either feels like.a title="MySpace Graphics" href=http://www.allmyspacegraphics.com/ border="0" ..

Books:

As far as periods of work...I really enjoy reading from the Romantic Period as well as the Modernist Period. The essay and lyrical balledry of the Romantic Period contained a spiritual undertone that, I feel, set the foundation of the era. Promoting a distinctive discovery of love and romance. The Modernist Period interests me simply because I AM a history buff and enjoy reading anything from the time frame of WW1-Post WWII. Ahh the "lost generation".... Hemingway, Stein, FitzgeraldMy preference is Non-Fiction....there are times, however, I feel the unwarranted need to delve into a spellbinding novel...for it is there that I WILL be until completion.
