Initiated into music from an early age, Carlos Vivas got his studies in Classical Piano as well as Classical and Jazz composition in his native Cali Colombia.
At the age of 13, he started to play and compose a wide range of rhythms and musical styles, specializing in Classical music, Jazz, Latin Jazz and Salsa Music, in the salsa realm, he was a member of one the world's most prominent and popular musical groups, "El Grupo Niche" of the well-known salsa music lyricist Jairo Varela.
During 1995-1996 Carlos built his own recording studio, and began his stage as musical producer, having big success thanks to his particular style and musical richness, becoming one of the most wanted musical producers in the salsa music business.
In the year 2000 he moved to New York where began his career as film composer, scoring several Short Films and Trailers in the big apple.
At the present time, he is living in Los Angeles where has composed several scores for independent Shorts and feature films including; Silent Scream Play 2 (Feature film directed by Royce Dudley) Crossing Acheron "Evil's City ( feature Film directed by Tom Lewis) Speech 101 ( Short Film directed by Cliff Chesley) Ascension(Feature Film directed by Maria Petros) Hidden Treasure ( Short Film directed by Artin Nazarian) Beneath The Surface (Short film directed by Michael Merril & Kevin Benjamin) The Perfect Invisible Man (Short Film directed by Juan Paredes) among many others. Carlo's music is always driven by such a tremendous artistic versatility, and an unique color surounds each and every musical note he puts on his scores.
