Junious "Microwave" Smith was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina on October 5th, 1988. As a child, Microwave was classified as a borderline genius with an IQ of 125, so big things were expected of him no matter which direction he took. During his elementary and middle school years, Microwave seemed destined for a career in the mathematical field, mainly for his ability to retain statistics and the amazing gift of mental math. In his junior year of high school, and a transition from a possible engineering career to working as an ESPN sports analyst, his friend Brian "Chicken Chow Mein" Ingraldi invoked a lyrical presence in him by rapping during class. The next day, Microwave wrote his first song entitled "Gatorcrack", a hilarious cult favorite at his high school. Unfortunately, Microwave's flame was dimmed after losing his first battle and affected him to the point where a goodbye graduation song to his friend Olivia Bundy was his only song written. After being accepted into Fayetteville State University, Microwave started greeting people by his nickname and started to get his confidence back. It wasn't until he happened to take a look at a beautiful girl in his English class in August 2006 that Microwave started writing again. Finally, on his 18th birthday, he recieved a camera that allowed him to create his first video "Real talk part 1" on October 30, 2006. It opened to rave reviews on his first Myspace page and started his journey. On February 22, 2007, Microwave made his first public performance at Fayetteville State's "Dipped In Chocolate" program, rapping "Never Deceptive" to a more-than-ecstatic crowd. The next day, he ran into Charles "C-Easy" Everett, who requested him to check out an instrumental. On March 7, 2007, Microwave recorded his first track "Never Deceptive" and his part of "Hip Hop Ain't Dead" in C-Easy's room in Vance Hall. Over the course of the next 6 months, Microwave got the opportunity to work with producer/rapper Demaris "Mars" Hargett, C-Easy's cousin and joined Fam Productions. More of a friendship than a group, Fam Productions had just as much fun working in the studio as in the clubs. On September 25, 2007, Microwave produced his first album, "Short Circuit", a 23-track mixtape with a plethora of different emotions and lyrical genius.2008 saw Microwave, the self-proclaimed "910's Metaphorical Mastermind" put himself into an even larger circle, winning the BET Black College Tour at Fayetteville State on October 3, 2008. The commercial was put nationwide and he had an article done on him in the Fayetteville Observer. Four days after the Black College Tour, Microwave put out "Lifetime Warranty", another 23-track masterpiece with more features and controversial topics; however, the lyricism remained. In 2009, Microwave is working on three projects: The Presidential Mixtape, Micro Jackson, and M.I.C.R.O.W.A.V.E (Man In Carolina Rollin On With Amazingly Vicious Entries). Expect big things from one of North Carolina's up-and-coming superstars. As of February 12, 2009, Microwave became a member of Outer Limits Music.
