Avatar Records was established in the spring of 1997, after Avichay Avigal came back from a seasonal visit in India. Then he left BNE, where he was A&R and production manager. He joined forces with Peter Eibenschutz, a well known veteran and appreciated figure in the local and international scene, who has been pulling the strings from the back stage.
The two had been organizing and promoting indoor and outdoor parties and events in Israel and Europe since the early party days, and were the main members of “Habrit†party organization, with its leading massive line of underground parties .
From the very first release (Ama Zone / Asia 2001), there was an impact that brought Sony Music Asia to release the album, making it the first psytrance album to be released in major Asian countries.
Avatar’s goal is to bring music to all layers of society and not only to trance and techno listeners. This is the reason why it does not focus on a narrow music direction, but together with that the general concept is electronica.
Avatar is mainly focusing on exploring new sounds and new talents from around the globe, as well as releasing original material by well established names. Avatar is operating in collaboration with NMC Music Ltd., the largest domestic company in Israel, representatives of Sony, EMI, 3MV, Perfecto, Zomba and Mute.
