Hi Everyone! We are a young band called The Aviators and we are based in Cambridge. We play many genres of music, from jazz-funk to psychedelic-rock, though as our URL suggests, we feed mainly upon the juiciness of the funk. We formed in November 2006 to satisfy the needs of a school gig, and have played together ever since. We a few covers, but mainly our own material, which is beginning to prove popular. We have experienced playing in the Cambridge Corn Exchange, local bars and street parties and we have recently supported Chas and Dave, Mamas Gun and many other local bands. We love to play whenever, however, wherever, and enjoy spreading the funk with our specially crafted funk knives...We've recently won the regional 'Get Heard' band competion held at the Junction in Cambridge and as a result of this, we have played at events such as Strawberry Fair and Big Day Out, both of which were crazy. We have the live recordings and a music video (edited by Adrian Reith) on our profile from Big day out. We have also been involved in the Junction fiver, and this venue has proved a popular one for us and our fans.The rest of 2008 is set to be a good year for Aviation...We are working on getting some new professional recordings done at some point in the year to keep up to date with our new material that we have written.Keep your eyes on this page for more info and details on anything you want to know about the 'hardest working band in Cambridge'.
