Dawn

About Me

Dawn began her informal training in singing at the tender age of 8 with The Amazing Grace Presbyterian church choir. And after 10 years of training and performing the classical and choral genre, Dawn wanted to follow her passion for jazz.
In 2003, Dawn quit her job as a flight attendant for Singapore Airlines to commit her time and energy into singing full-time. She engaged vocal trainer Babes Condes (Philippines/Singapore) for jazz and pop vocal training and has not looked back. Since then she has worked with and met many talented musicians. All of whom has left a little footprint of inspiration in her heart which she will always be ever so grateful for. Although she has not yet had the luxury of going to music school, she has taken many precious lessons from "The School of The Road" and her hunger to understand and better execute her craft has propelled her to New York for classes with Tania Travers, the legendary Barry Harris and Master class with Grammy award winning jazz vocalese, Kurt Elling.
Apart from performing for countless high profile corporate events and private functions (eg; Tiffany & Co., Guess, Yafiro watches, Cortina Watches, Lamborghini, DKNY)
In 2004-2005 Dawn has also worked on several jazz music festivals and national events in Singapore.

Year 2005 Dawn performed for her 1st Mosaic Music Festival (outdoor stage) with the help of well acclaimed Drummer and events organizer Tama Goh, who put together a jazz quartet consisting of some of Singapore's best for the show. Later that year Dawn did her maiden ticketed concert collaborating with Michaela Therese entitled "Young Ladies Of Jazz and Soul". It was a sold out event. (Munir Alsagoff-guitar/Bobby Singh-percussions/Collin Yong-bass/Michaela Therese-piano)
2006 Dawn sang with 11 piece latin band "Beat Farm" to give a tribute to Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machines, the 1 hour long concert was a blast for the crowd and the band. And in Christmas 2006, Dawn gave a heart warming Christmas lunch concert to a crowd of 500 bringing in her very own twist of "Santa Jazz".
