Learn from the man who wrote the book on comedy writing in an upscale club setting. Gotham Comedy Club teams with noted comedy professional Jim Mendrinos to present a unique comedy workshop that will teach you what you need to know about stand-up comedy.About the ClassThe workshop runs for 8 weeks and covers all aspects of stand-up. Students perform every week in a workshop environment, developing material and stage presence, all under the watchful eye of the instructor. Each student gets individual attention in order to guarantee the growth of the comic as an individual. There are specific classes on writing and business as well to make sure that the student is equipped with the proper tools to continue beyond the workshop. At the end of the 8 weeks, the students will perform in front of a live audience at Gotham Comedy Club and will receive a tape of their performance.This class is designed to work with each student at the level they are currently at, so if you're brand new to stand-up, or if you are stuck in a rut, this class can help you find your way to the next level.

Sundays, 5pm-7:30pm 7 weeks of intensive workshops and the 8th week is a graduation showIf you are an aspiring comic, a new comic looking to learn the fundamentals, If you are a writer that has never acted, or an actor that has never written, If you have an interest in comedy, then this class is for you.All classes are held at Gotham Comedy Club. You practice on the stage.The teacher's name is Jim Mendrinos, a working comic, with national TV credits. He literally wrote the book on stand-up comedy, "The Idiot's Guide to Stand-Up", now in bookstores.While enrolled, you may attend shows at Gotham, free of charge, Sunday-Thursday! As long as the shows aren't sold out (or a special event) & the club knows that you're coming.Gotham is a wonderful and nurturing environment for up-and-coming comedians. It's a great place to network with other comics and show-producers.Class size is limited to 20 students. All classes are held at Gotham Comedy Club. Sundays, 1:00pm-3:30pm 7 weeks of intensive workshops and the 8th week is a graduation showThis career intensive covers: *Intensive writing, editing, organization and maintenance of your material* *Performance analysis and direction * Performing do's and don'ts * *The Art of Emceeing * The Business of Stand-Up*The teacher's name is Jim Mendrinos, a working comic, with national TV credits.
