08.09.2008 - I thought it was 'bout time I wrote a bio :D :D. I first started to sing when I was two. It was a line from the Christmas song 'Deck The Halls', which I continued to sing constantly throughout the following two years. When I was 'bout 5, I joined a choir which I later quit because I used to have really, really big cheeks that the older kids liked to squeeze 'cause they fancied them.. it very much hurt though so when I was around 8, I left and progressed to trying to form a band named LOVE. The 'L' would stand for Laura and the other 3 letters would stand for the first initials of the 3 remaining members. At the time, I thought it was major creative and original. It never eventuated. When I was 9, I wrote my first song entitled 'Funky' - "Funky, funky moving to the funky, funky sound 'cause we're funky, funky grooving on the funky, funky ground. Funky! Funky!" There was a dance which went along with it. By the time I turned 14/15, I decided to give the band idea another go. From reading an old journal entry, I know I wanted to start a band named '2surreal'.. eewwww. I have a pretty good feeling I took the name from a word in a Good Charlotte song, haha.. wait, I'll Google the word now.. OH, I did!! It is from Change.. 'so surreal' though. No one was keen on the idea at all so I decided to put it on hold for a while and concentrate on writing songs. I wrote a fair amount of basic high-school-esque songs mainly regarding love and not being cool. I was in a band once or twice which never went any further than a rehearsal or two. I went through a number of years feeling bothered and dejected. When I was almost 20 I thought perhaps I don't have to have a band and started to record songs by myself. The songs were lame.. with one song not even consisting of instruments.. I thought it could be like Peter Pan and everyone could pretend there was music :o. The idea never took off though and, shortly after, the song was removed. I started to learn how the music I fancied was composed and what parts I was capable/not capable of.. with help from music programs and websites.. which brings me to where I am now :]. Musically, it's been a long, slow 21 years, haha :] DUDE, I very much appreciate the nice words and thoughts of everyone who has listened to the songs and watched the few videos and.. yes, I'm very pleased.
