--- Steve Shankles | lead guitar | vocals | harmonica ---Steve started performing rodeos, clubs and festivals throughout Southwest Arkansas at the age of five with his father’s band. He has since toured with rock, blues, bluegrass, gospel and country groups throughout the United States and abroad. He was an entertainer for Carnival Cruise Lines and Dallas Arts Council, and was assistant manager of Rainbow Music Talent Agency in Dallas, Texas were he booked hundreds of acts for clients such as Texas Instruments, Anitol, Grand Kapinski, and Double Tree to name a few. Steve has shared the stage with BB King, John Anderson, Mark Lowry, ZZ Top, Billy Joel, Pantera, and many others. He has played with hundreds of bands as a blue collar guitarist. He has now formed his own group to put all the experiences he has learned into his own style of music. His main influences are Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Johnny Cash, and KISS. The Steve Shankles Band’s project, as of now, is to create a sound they can call their own.--- Doug Lee | drums | vocals ---Born in Sacramento California in 1964, Doug started playing drums at the age of 12. Joining Evpress a pop/country band, Doug learned to gig at weddings parties and clubs throughout the central valley during the 80's. After 6 years with the band the other members wanted to concentrate on country only. Doug quit. With influences of Van Halen, Ozzy and Dio it was time to move on. Doug soon formed the band Meltdown, a young band with raw new sounds. Meltdown quickly became a local favorite with a large following. Recording original tunes, some members were enticed away to L.A. and Seattle. Doug wished them well and moved on to Hot Springs Arkansas to escape California's overcrowding. Playing with a few bands and doing some casual sit-ins, Doug heard Steve play Amazing Grace on the guitar at a funeral for a mutual friend. Finally contacting Steve, they met to jam with some other guys and clicked right away. Their ability to read each other made playing together a huge satisfaction. --- Gary Mason | bass ---Gary has been playing bass in the Central Arkansas area for over 30 years. He has played with such groups as The John Craig Blues Review, Southern Wind, Cache River Band, Gill Franklin Band, Texas Rikki D, The Claymores, Bill Jernigan Duo and many others His main influences are Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix and Albert Collins. Gary has a great sense of timing and holds down the low end to give the band a fat sound.
