We lie to look honest and sin to look holy; God, forgive us!

About Me

I just want to love people.
BROKEN-HEARTED
"Throw us in jail and we will still love you. Bomb our houses and threaten our children and we will still love you. Beat us and leave us half dead and we will still love you. But be ye assured that we will wear you down by our capacity to suffer. One day we shall so appeal to your heart and conscience that we shall win you in the procress, and our victory will be a double victory." -Martin Luther King in "The American Dream"
"Honoured sir...poverty is not a vice, that's a true saying. Yet I know too that drunkenness is not a virtue, and that's even truer. But beggary, honoured sir, beggary is a vice. In poverty you may still retain your innate nobility of soul, but in beggary--never--no one. For beggary a man is not chased out of human society with a stick, he is swept out with a broom, so as to make it as humiliating as possible; and quite right too, forasmuch as in beggary I am ready to be the first to humiliate myself." -Marmeladov from Crime and Punishment
"The glass can only spill what it contains" -mewithoutYou
I've recently been reading this book called The Irresistible Revolution, you should probably read it because it's amazing. Here's an amazing quote from it: "God forgive us for all those we have lost because we made the gospel boring. I am convinced that if we lose kids to the culture of drugs and materialism, of violence and war, it's because we don't dare them, not because we don't entertain them. It's because we make the gospel too easy, not because we make it too difficult. Kids want to do something heroic with their lives which is why they play video games and join the army. But what are they to do with a church that teaches them to tiptoe through life so they can arrive safely at death?" (p 226)

I'd like to meet:

People who actually want to be friends with me. I don't like meeting people who pretend they like to make new friends, and then don't actually talk to you. I can be a good addition to your life, you just have to let me.

I love hanging out with bands that are passing through.

..

Music:

My favorite thing is when a CD or band has a story behind their music, like Maylene, Protest the Hero, and The Decemberists.
2 Pac, A Perfect Circle, The Agony Scene, Alanis Morissette, Andre Nikatina, Anna Nalick, Aqua, As I Lay Dying, August Burns Red, The Beatles, BEETHOVEN, Black Eyed Peas, The Bled, Blindside, The Blood Brothers, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Boyz II Men, Bradley Hathaway, Brand New, Chamillionaire, Christina Aguilera, Coldplay, Common, The Cranberries, Cursive, Damien Rice, Danzig, Dead Poetic, The Decemberists, Dead Prez, Deep Forest, Dispatch, Disturbed, Dr. Dre, Dresden Dolls, Dustin Kensrue, Eisley, Erykah Badu, Every Time I Die, The Fall of Troy, Fear Before the March of Flames, Fiona Apple, The Format, Frou Frou, Goo Goo Dolls, The Grouch, HIM, He is Legend, HeavyHeavy LowLow, Incubus, Interpol, Iron Maiden, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, Jennifer Knapp, Jewel, Jimmy Eat World, John Legend, John Mayer, Jose Gonzalez, Joshua Radin, Journey, Jurassic 5, Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, The Killers, Kittie, Lauryn Hill, Led Zeppelin, Less than Jake, Limp Bizkit, Living Legends, Ludacris, Lupe Fiasco, Mariah Carey, The Mars Volta, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, mewithoutYou, Michael Franti, Michael Jackson, Minus the Bear, the Misfits, Mos Def, Motley Crue, Nelly Furtado, Nichole Nordeman, Nickel Creek, Norma Jean, The Number Twelve Looks Like You, Over the Rhine, Pink Floyd, Plumb, Portishead, Portugal. The Man, Protest the Hero, Queen, Radiohead, Rosa, Sarah McLachlan, Showbread, The Showdown, Slipknot, Soul for Real, Sublime, Tegan & Sara, Thrice, Tom Petty [and the Heartbreakers], Trevor Davis, TV on the Radio, Underoath, Veda, Wolfmother, Zion I etc.
Some of this stuff is just nostalgia and stuff that is way to fun to leave off the list, like all those rock bands that we all listened to when we were younger. Music is good for the soul, and it's entertaining, I hate music elitists, some of my friends are, but I can't stand it...
