VICTORIA PATCHEN

About Me

Victoria Patchen started making up songs into a brown Fisher-Price tape recorder as soon as she could talk, playing piano by age 3, and annoying neighbors on her father's vintage Gretsch drums by age 9.
She first began performing as a singer/songwriter in acoustic pop/folk duo ANGEL FALL . Washington Post's Joe Heim called her voice "cool and ethereal." Later, she became the lead singer of indie pop/rock band VILLAROSIE.
Most recently, she has joined forces with Scotty Beam and DJ Boom of Listen Vision Studio, to form electropop trio THE DBC . Although the three of them have been together less than a year, the group is already garnering much attention. In August 2007, the DBC performed as finalists at the Independent Music World Series in NYC; in 2008, they were honored by BILLBOARD (Victoria composed the vocal melody and lyrics of the DBC's first-place winning song "Back To You"). The trio performed their award-winning song live at the 15th Annual Billboard World Song Contest Awards Show, March 29, 2008, at Mansion America Theatre , Branson, MO. In 2009, the group was nominated for the 23rd Annual WAMMIES .
Victoria also fronts DC area pop/rock band LUCKY DAY and has embarked on a second project with producer Scotty Beam, forming downtempo duo VELOUR .
Some Notable Performances:
DC: The Kennedy Center, National Cherry Blossom Festival, The Black Cat, USO, Fort Reno
VA: IOTA, Celebrate Fairfax Festival, Starr Hill Music Hall
NY: Arlene's Grocery, Crash Mansion, The Knitting Factory
MO: Mansion America Theater
