Billy was born in Houston Texas. “I remember as a kid, my best friend’s dad had a country band. I would sit and watch them rehearse for hours just waiting for them to take a break so I could jump on the guitar and try to mimic their licks.†Billy played and sang along side his mother in church and was sure to be seen and heard picking a Haggard song or two at all the local gatherings.
In 1999 he was asked to be the front man for a new country band called “Nine Point Mesaâ€. The band consisted of some great local Texas players and a few members from the award winning band “Little Texas".
Billy moved to Nashville, Tennessee in February of 2001. Since then he continues to perform, record demos and can pride himself with the fact that he’s a song writer. Billy’s influences include such artists as Merle Haggard, Elvis Presley, John Conlee, Travis Tritt, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Triumph and ZZ Top to name a few.
Billy holds some imposing credentials. He recieved the first place award in the 2005-06 Billboards Songwriters Contest and recieved a finalist award in the 2005 John Lennon Songwriters Contest. He has performed at many venues including the Houston Live Stock Show and Rodeo. The Liberty Opry House - Liberty Texas, The Gator Festival - Anahuac, Texas, The Water Festival - Lake Chicot, Arkansas, The 2002-2008 Winters Brothers Southern Summer Jam and has made numerous appearances on Public Access Channels in Nashville, Tennessee.
