Naquia was born in Florence, South Carolina and raised in Cheraw, South Carolina. As a child, she took tap/ballet and piano lesson, then to start singing in her youth choir at school and at church. Naquia kept herself busy in a small town by playing varsity basketball for 3 yrs, becoming the chorus president, the section leader in marching band, and voted vice president for two years while in high school. She start performing in a number of local choirs and presentations, to only earned a reputation and several awards since 1996. The cousin of the great late-singer Luther Vandross & the great late-musician Dizzy Gillespie, Naquia continues to follow her family footsteps and strive for success.
Naquia soon moved to Atlanta, Georgia at the age of 20 and right off the back start working with 112. She parted ways with them when she sign a year contact with her manager at the time, who is currently Gorilla Zoe from Bad Boy South manager as well. Within a year, Naquia start working with Tity Boi from DTP’s Playaz Circle doing numerous songs together. Working with Chino Dolla who linked up her with Wingo from Jagged Edge doing a song towards Yung Joc album, that didn’t make the cut. At the beginning of the year of 2007, Naquia open up for Jim Jones and within a month headed off to Las Vegas to perform for her biggest crowd yet, during the All-Star weekend.

"I open up for Purple Ribbon All-Starts in the Carolina's, Jim Jones, Webbie, and numerous upcoming artist from Atlanta.
QUESTION: What artist have you be working with?
"I did a song with Zoe and Money Getting D from Trust Nobody Ent, Tity Boi from Playaz Circle, Wingo from Jagged Edge, Suga Suga, Krab (wrote Laffy Taffy & numerous songs for D4L) and currently I have been working with Bolo Production."
QUESTION: What can we expect from you in the future?
"Well lately since I been working with Bolo Production, I am about to sign a 12 song contract to present to upcoming artist and mostly pop artist. I currently just did a song with Granddaddy Souf (who use to be with three-6-mafia) which hits the radio within a month which I am very pleased with the outcome. I am also working with this young girl group, writing and helping them record."
