About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas’ Myspace Editor V3.6 !
I am an intense individual for things that help others become better people...I like to inspire success. And I have done it many times...I am happy and blessed to say that I have inspired many people on this earth to be their best. I guess that is the CO-ACH in me! Can I get a return? After others, I try to improve myself by reading stories of inspiration and things that will improve my teaching and coaching. I now read these relationship books...very interesting! What does "The One" mean? Many have looked at me and said that but things change...is everyone "The One for now?" I wonder.Social sporting activities play a big part of my life. After that I like to make fun of my students and keep them guessing if I am crazy or insane...HA! I hate them all equally!I am kinda into web side design...just started. www.countrysideflagfootball.com. If you need to catch up on your World History or Sociology homework, www.mrbrunson.com. Feel free to tell me what you think. Or show me your examples to help my skills improve!I also finally started my business...it was a lot of hard work but I believe that it will pay off. If it doesn't, I can say that I gave it my best. I can truly say that now. I haven't given my best to anything in a long time, maybe even a decade or more. Oh I have given just above average...that ain't too hard for me. But now I have given my absolute best. Think about that...your absolute best. That is tough to do but I know that I did that this year when it came to coaching and starting my business. ALL STAR GAME: MAY 9, 2007 COUNTRYSIDE HIGH. To be honest, I fail at something everyday. I have failed at really big stuff in my life but that voice of God keeps waking me up after 4 hours of sleep telling me there is something I have to do today. Anyone have that voice? I also wonder when things will all get to that moment when I can look back and smile? How old do I have to be for that? I just hope it is before my mind starts to forget things. Just my luck. But today, is another day and I am working on doing all the things on my list. I can never have that perfect day. But there have been moments this year where I was able to see perfection in some of the things I did and helped others to accomplish. I am thankful for that. I hope things continue to grow and I continue to be an asset in the lives of people I touch.I am also a hard person to figure out...and I really don't know why. Well, yeah I do!!! My shell is very hard but the heart is very loving, you just have to be very understanding of wait time. I also have this mean/ cruel side that can be unleashed at any moment as ego protetction. And you thought the Klan said hateful words...watch out. It is under control now...but don't push it. I'm not a killa but don't push me!!! I enjoy life and others but I am very protective of my well-being...so it takes me a while(like years) to open up and trust people. I continue to work on that part of me.As for my past...it was awesome. Many friends that I shared good times with but I don't talk to now. Many good times...so much fun I should be dead by now!I am very grateful for all the mistakes I made!!! All the bad times and long nights. All the women that dumped me because it has taught me to treasure the relationships in life. Come on...you think a fine person like me has been dumped? Yeah...but at least they liked me for a good ten minutes. Or so they said...ha!I still have the goal of being husband of the year, daddy of the year and coach of the year! So watch out...well after flag season! Any takers?

Senior Breakfast with some C-Side Peeps! Making graduation "Ghetto-fab" as only black folk can do!But...there is a whole lot of forehead in this pic. Chillin'! I love the baby animals! Sica...Mr. World Class Soccer Coach Rob's son Ayden...Brun love the kids! Here is the history behind my background pic. This is the town that my family is from...but that was like 100 years ago. Since then we have, as a family tree, moved around the country.

I'd like to meet:

Well, who would I like to meet? I feel that I meet cool people everyday. So you could be next. As far as others in life...Charles Stanley, Jose Canseco, Will Smith, Dean Smith, Vanessa Williams, Dr. Henry Cloud, Dr. John Townsend, Tubby Smith, Randy Shannon, Ray Lewis, Beastie Boys, Jazzy Jeff, Kid Capri, Martin, a few Hollywood Film Directors, Bruce Willis, Chris Rock, T.D. Jakes, and Larry Coker. Finally, my future wife...TBDPeople I wish I never met! You know who you are...Katie Kent...because you call me at 2:00 in the morning to hear my voice mail message. HA, good one!

Music:

I don't get into Heavy Metal...I respect it, it is just too angry for my soft heart! Old Rap...the new stuff is cool but the way women are represented is a bit much in my old age. I’m not against rap, I’m not against rappers, but… Plus I love how all the rappers talk about hustlin' and stealin' and pimpin' but have that big label on their CD that begs you to not steal or copy their music or they will call the FBI! Don't fully understand that! How is that right? AND YES they are talking about YOU!

Movies:

Stand up comedies! Richard Pryor, Chris Rock, Martin, Eddie Murphy, Ricky Smiley, and others. Remember the Titans, Bad Boys, Hitch, Drum Line, Friday After Next, Coming to America, Evolution, Finding Nemo to name a few. Anything I can show in class where the evil student won't tell on me and I don't have to sit in front of the principal and explain how it relates to the curriculum. Try doing that with Major Payne! "I can't hear you!"

Television:

Sports...not just any sports...can’t watch motorcross unless "Bubba" is racing. College sports mostly...baseball, football and basketball. Started watching softball...amazing how the girls can pitch many games in a row and MLB players need an ice pack and a jacket after two innings of work. Different motions play into that but geez! Some soccer and professional baseball but moss tends to grow on the TV between scores. Highlights are best for those two. Old, 99 and earlier, NBA basketball. Boring now, too much traveling, crying and changing the rules to fit one player(note the changes once Shaq couldn't produce in Orlando). I still love the true fast break and a player getting dunked on. Jealous I guess!Reality TV? The only two shows that really qualify are Cops and Cheaters. I guess that Animal Planet Rescue Show(Tear). Cheaters is good until YOU are the one in THAT van going to THE location! As for Cops...how do they always find the drugs after a commercial break or edit? You gotta watch closely. And if you think that you can hide under a kiddy pool and not get caught, you deserve to go to jail.VH1 – I Love the 80s and 90s. MTV’s NEXT, Nick and Jessica and videos when they play them. BET music videos and Tavis (He is on PBS now). The Simpsons. Too funny! Most people don't get the humor and some think they are Satanic! Satan? Really!CSI and Law and Order are the favorites! With the invention of these two shows why would you EVER commit a crime?

Books:

Purpose Driven Life...great starter book for the novice believer. Bad if you are looking to keep your self-centered values. How People Grow...and my favorite, the bible. There are some interesting people in that thing. And you think you have problems! Stuff for school and improving my skills as a teacher are also high on the list. Other than those... I guess I should try other things...but after reading a few hours a week it is time for another activity. I guess that is all of my "reading for fun" list.

Heroes:

Jesus. Imagine all that pressure to mess up once and you don't. Can you imagine if he would have? I don't claim to be perfect but I sure wish that I could have that one day where I was. Parents and sister, (she is going through a lot and stands strong even when others won't), my friends (They threw the best birthday celebration in my honor, I said I wasn't gonna cry)! My new heros have to be the Countryside Flag Football team. They take all of my junk(talking about them and making fun of them every chance I get) and they still show up. They have really impressed me this year! Big ups to you all... and as Tarryne would say...Christina! Now that I am on the "other side" of my pitfall...I must say my dad. He was there everytime I fell and got down. I cherish the Sunday after church walks that we take. He has really given me the ear necessary to release some intense feelings. MY FLAG TEAM: They have really done an awesome job this season. I always hope and work for a team like I am coaching now. They are the best I have ever had...and that is a strong statement being an old Viking. But those who know me understand I wouldn't say it if it wasn't true. I am truly blessed with this team. Now...get me my trophy!!!
