On August 25, 2007, Emily Wilson was crowned Miss United States Teen 2007 at the conclusion of the sixteenth annual Miss United States Teen Competition. Needless to say, this eighteen year old Charlotte, North Carolina native was surprised and delighted to win the coveted title.Emily is a freshman at the Art Institute of Charlotte. She considers herself ambitious, compassionate and creative. As a volunteer at Turning Point, a battered women's shelter, she organized holiday events and collected over 150 phones for the residents.In addition to the many prizes Emily won, she will embark on an incredible year of experiences; traveling throughout the country promoting issues dear to her heart, working with numerous charitable organization, while meeting various dignitaries and experiencing an unparalleled wealth of personal growth opportunities. These experiences are unique to the Miss United States Organization and will become an integral part in furthering Emily's aspirations.Emilywork with Crowns for a Cure, the official foundation of the Miss United States Organization, which aims at using the national title to help many causes across the nation.
