About Me

It's just me....I've been writing songs for a good few years now, and over the years got ever grander in the way I record them. Those who've stuck with me from the beginning will remember the Tascam four track versions....Now it's all spruced up, studio on a laptop sort of thing, which just makes me laugh.I'm beginning to add new songs, got enough to make another CD now so thought I'd better get my butt in gear. I've tidied my office too, a small incentive but it meant I could actually stand in there and hold my guitar without bumping into book shelves, disused kids computer games and broken printers. There are several songs from what is the last CD, all now finished and tidied and mastered for free by a good friend of mine who owed me! The CD was tentatively called 'centred,' until I realised that sounded like one of those self help relaxation CDs garden centres sell, especially when my artwork idea was a pebble causing ripples as it dropped in a pool. It astonishes me how sometimes your mind has the complete inability to filter out cliches... It's now called 'carry me home,' and is available to anyone who wants one for the exchange of the smallest amount of money... Once I've figured out how to post links I'll make that a whole lot easier, tried once and then found the link didn't work, technology baffles me. There are some songs from the previous CD too, just to remind you what else I've done... I'm adding people I find and like to my 'friends' list, it'd be wonderful if once you've listened to me, you go and give them a try too. Music needs to be heard, no matter how you find it.... Try Simone White, Stephen Fretwell, or any of the great UK unsigned people I've come across in the last months. They all deserve a listen, all doing this for the right reasons.Take care one and all...Andrew

The Virgin Test

I like the title of this one...I was on Oxford St a few weeks back, and popped into the Virgin Megastore, ( I refuse to call it Zavvi, that's akin to the distraught I felt when Opal Fruits became star...

It's been a long few months, but I'm inching ever closer to having the new CD ready. Musically it was finished before xmas, then my friend did a wonderful job mastering it, and then an even more wonde...

On doing nothing

I'm a restless soul, I've spent a life as a perpetual fidget, unable to sit and watch the world go by when I know there are things I could be doing, book to read, guitar to play, coffee to make. It co...

I’ll name that tune in....

Everyonce in a while, I'll write something, and then a few months later hear it back, and it'll remind you of something. Not in a direct 'my sweet lord/ she's so fine' plagiaristic sort of way, but in...

So, what does this button do...

First time I've written something here, but I just had such a good day recently, so thought this could be a good place to share it. To cut a long story short, I managed to somehow sneak a day's master...
