About Me

Hello there.... The name Baby Britain is a tribute to Elliott Smith, whom I really love... And also because I have a thing for all things british.. well, most things anyway! I'm insanely in love with music, my favourite and only drug in life. Also like a nice glass of wine or three, british slang and swearwords... and charming irish or mexican accents. Hmm.. What else to say? I have a pretty ordinary life, so no actionpacked blogs from me. Oh, yes I REALLY hate sports, religion, homophobia, shit reality-docu-tv, sexism and stupid talentless poptarts. That is kind of who I am :-) ...AND IF YOU ARE A BAND/ARTIST : Please DON'T bother to request me if you are one of the following genres : Hip Hop, R & B and Metal...It murders my ears.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Well, I'm hoping to meet people with similar minds and taste. People with a passion for the good stuff in life. Women with balls and men in make up, moviegeeks, arty farty people, musicfanatics, poets, comedians, romantics, gentlemen, androgynous people, dragqueens, bookworms.... As long as you are a sweetheart, have brains and humour, and -most importantly-have no prejudice towards other people. So... obviously no sexist, racist or homophobic idiots!

Bolan, Eno and Bowie..the true glamtrolls

The Libertines "The Good Old Days (Live in Japan)"

Now, these fine lads have a very special place in my heart... If only I could have seen them live in their prime, before everything went to hell.. " If you've lost your faith in love and music, the end won't be long. " So very, very true. I bet a lot of kids have that as a tattoo :-)

Breakfast on Pluto
I have a bit of an obsession with this movie..Nobody can make films about the IRA and transsexuals the way Neil Jordan can !! ( well, nobody else does..) Such a sweet, sad and funny film.

Night of the Hunter
Sadly, this was the only movie that actor Charles Laughton ever directed. Not easy to categorize, part horror, part melodrama and with a bit of comedy to ! Very beautifully filmed. This is a clip of the famous and sweet boat scene.

Withnail & I
One of my absolute favorite movies ! Very quoteable, and Richard E. Grant is so wonderful as Withnail ( Bit of a bastard, but very charming )

The Innocents
Based on one of my favourite novels, The Turn Of The Screw by Henry James, this is a VERY creepy one. It is the only movie adaption worth watching. Includes some very controversial subjects of it's time, and maybe still today. Beautiful B/W cinematography.

Murder by Death
Along with the ORIGINAL Ladykillers, this really is one of the best comedies ever made. That's my humble opinion anyways.. It has the most perfect cast and it's hard to say who is the best in it. I can never get tired of watching it !

Sir Alec Guinness as the dear Professor Marcus in The Ladykillers.

My Blog
