About Me

"I'm born in Paris but spent a big part of my life in the South of France, on the Mediterranean Coast.I begin to learn Drums at the age of 9 in the communal school. At first, it was a little bit difficult, (Partbooks are something boring to learn for child), but my parents, realizing my possibilities, encouraged me. 5 years later, I left the communal school to make studies in the Conservatorium of Montpellier, as a classical philharmonic percussionnist. It was a great experience and I learnt a lot of differents things, especially in Harmonies. After 4 years in Conservatorium, I continued my intensive learning in a Jazz school . The contrast between these differents musical worlds was a very important step for me. This gave me a real dimension about how I could think my own music. I stayed 3 years in this Jazz school. During all this time, I used to integrate a lot of bands, and learned so much different musical atmosphere, Samba, Salsa, Jazz, Jazz-Rock, Pop, Funk, Rock, Progressive-metal.I've played and play with a lot of honesty and try to serve the music more as a composer and arranger than just as a drummer."Band Experience :In France :1987 - DnD (first music experience) 1988 - T.V.B (Experimental) Bloody Mary (Funk-Rock) Channell (Cover-Rock) Mosquito Strings (Reggae-Ska) 1989 - Blue Bossa (Jazz) 1991 - Bitter Sweet (1991- 1994) Progressive Metal (with Cyril Paulus - Sony/BMG) 1992 - Top Secret (Rock) 1995 - Amaryllis (Pop) Vision (Progressive Metal) Mithril (Progressive Metal)In Germany :1997 - Broadway (Gala-Band) 1999 - Big Trouble (1999 - 2001) (Cover-Rock) Sieben (Pop-Rock) 2001 - Season (Pop) Seangrand's Band (Jazz-Rock) 2002 - Silverwood (Modern Country) Neal (Pop) 2004 - Megabite (Cover- Rock) 2006 - Nevio (German Pop) Number-Nine (Cover-Rock) 2008 - Nine oclair (Alternativ-Rock) www.myspace.com/nineoclair
