The Hub

About Me

Objective: The primary basis of the Hub Arts Collective is to provide a service, outlet and environment for all artists alike, focussing on the artists that need support, encouragement and a chance to pursue their talent. Our mission statement is to not have anyone turned away to further collaborate with the community’s need for a hub; a larger artistic culture.

Aspiration: By developing a community of artistic activity, there can in turn be a support network created enabling anyone who has passion, energy and a desire to see their talents and dreams be put into reality. This opportunity offers someone to be able to become something larger than just one person, not only for themselves, but to be apart of something that is everyone.

Composition: The Hub is constructed of people who have been a part of the Arts and Entertainment community collaborating alongside local experienced artists and educators to offer a diverse array of programs ranging from; Acting, Audio Engineering, Dance, Video Editing and Production, Script Writing, Photography, Voice and Painting (among other artistic endeavors). The Hub will also act as a Rehearsal studio, Live Venue and Arts Exhibit for the “all ages”.

Please note if you are wanting to book a show please email: booking@thehubartscollectivedotcom This is the only means of contact that we will respond to your request to book a show at The Hub... Also note that we do have some new booking costs and a rental agreement setup to utilize the Hub. We want to keep this place going so some guidelines for use were in order.

Also note that if you want to enroll in classes please send an email to enroll@thehubartscollectivedotcom

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

First of all let me say that I am terribly sad. The whole foundation of The Hub is community through the arts and having things like this going on really make it difficult to want to push forward and continue providing this type of service out of The Hub.At this point officially all age shows have been cancelled as we assess the situation and begin the major focus of The Hub… Teaching the arts and providing a space for collective artistic collaboration.I feel that the vandalism and problems we have been having are the result of certain individuals not understanding what we aim to do with The Hub and I would love the opportunity to present that to them and anyone else who doesn’t understand. We are offering an open forum for everyone at The Hub this Friday (April 6th, 2007) at 6:30pm… with a discussion beginning at 7:00pm. The purpose of this is education of what The Hub is doing here in Vernon and, for anyone interested, the opportunity to help us do some planning for the future.I think the biggest thing to realize is that at this point no one with The Hub administrative team is getting paid… We are all volunteer… and, might I add, all working full time jobs and balancing our families well being on top of this. This is how much we believe in this idea: We are willing to risk our personal finances and family time to build a place of education and community for the arts. We long to support the “young” in arts as we were supported while all of us were getting going in our careers. We welcome the community out to The Hub on Friday night for the discussion. If you have any further questions or need clarification on anything don’t hesitate to ask.Thank you for your continued support, it means the world to us. Sincerely, Dave Johnson, Didi Myles, Matt Brown, Terry denBok and the entire administrative and volunteer staff of The Hub Arts Collective.
