Music has been a powerful force in Pamela Genizas life since childhood. A history of vocal and instrumental instruction has bolstered Pamelas core skills in musical performance. These skills have been further strengthened by her discipline, determination, and passion for the musical craft.
Pamela began formal instruction in piano at the age of seven. When she was eight years old, she traveled with her piano teacher to Azusa Pacific College and met with a renowned professor of music who administered an examination in piano. Pamela performed two classical piano pieces for him and also answered written questions on musical theory. With this test, she successfully completed the Applied Music I curriculum and above average performance of the Piano Jury/Exam at Azusa Pacific University in September of 1993.
Pamela has always had a special love for singing. She was a member of her elementary and middle school choirs, sometimes accompanying them on the piano. She began taking vocal lessons at the age of twelve, and at thirteen became a member of a R&B girl group called Real Emotions. For almost three years she performed with the group, singing a couple of her original compositions as well as cover songs. The popular quartet performed in musical venues of San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Las Vegas. They also shared the stage with acts like Black Eyed Peas and Jocelyn Enriquez.
With an extensive musical history behind her, Pamela now pursues her
vocal career as a solo artist. She has composed and produced a number of
songs that she will be showcasing at upcoming appearances. These songs include Something Like That, a ballad she wrote and recorded at age 16, which displays her raw skills as a singer, songwriter, and piano player. There is also Dont Let Him, an upbeat track encouraging woman-empowerment in an abusive relationship. Its Time and Silver Medal possess a style inspired by her Chamorro roots as well as her love for Latin music. These are just a few of her original songs in which she hopes to share with whoever will listen!
