The Unit prides itself on a huge song repertoire, which enables them to take a large amount of requests and make each performance unique. Often referred to as a human jukebox, The Unit can fluently execute many styles of music from classic rock tunes, retro 80's dance songs, 70's disco and funk, Motown, R&B, blues, Jazz, Reggae, country, rap and hip hop, commercial jingles, and TV show themes. It has also enabled the band to play a wide variety of venues from many local bars to small private all age parties. The most common compliment of the Unit is the versatility of its performances.The members of the Unit have been playing professionally for over 20 years. Angelo Cicco has shared the stage with many national acts such as Blues Traveler, Collective Soul, Smash Mouth, and The Smithereens. His versatility and vast song repertoire have made him a much sought after sideman for many local bands. He has played lead guitar for numerous local bands such as The Crawpuppies, Nicole Jamrose, White Dove, Triple Dos, Nick Danger, Takabite, and History’s End. The bass wizardry of Buddy Pearson and masterful drumming of Bill Romer, both current members of the Freek Johnson quartet, provide the Unit with an amazing dimension of musicianship that sets them apart from other cover bands. It's not uncommon for Buddy Pearson to play chords on the bass, creating a bass loop, and play keyboards with his right hand.
It is truly a new level of performance and entertainment.The Unit prides itself on entertaining the crowd and themselves. All Unit shows are unique because you don't know what the band will do next. In addition to a high energy, highly musical stage show, the guys in the band have a relaxed attitude, usually cracking themselves up along with the crowd. Peppering their shows with numerous cornball antics and wisecracking comments in between songs, The Unit enjoys performing a 90 minute first set, a half hour break, and then continuous music until last call. The band is known for getting folks out of their seats and keeping them dancing all night, while keeping them laughing and cheering at the same time.
