"Kill Me Now, Kiss Me Later" is a group of artists whose main goal is the combination of theatre, music, and film.
Oscar Merlo alongside Edgar Merlo, have crafted "Kill Me Now Kiss Me Later" into a dynamic field of sound. The music reveals a dreamy mood alongside a darkwave/electro splendor. The songs are eclectic based on timely layered compositions with dark moods and deep tones wrapping around tormented lyrics, while the textures provide for movement and listening pleasure.
"Kill Me Now Kiss Me Later" works with video images as well as visual artists from the Los Angeles' diverse art community to combine music and visual arts. "We use video and other visuals as an instrument, and it ripples through emotions just like sound." Oscar says. Presently, "Kill me now Kiss me Later" is in the final phase of a new play/musical to be performed shortly.
Oscar's forte is piano/keyboards and computer music production. He has been playing music since he was seven years old starting with piano lessons from the late Mrs. Chitoshi Kawabe. In addition Oscar was a recipient of a Herb Alpert music scholarship. He is currently a graduate student in music at Cal State L.A.
Edgar adds to "Kill Me Now Kiss Me Later" a wide array of experience as well as great guitar playing skills. His influences include early punk from the New York Dolls, Deadboys and Johnny Thunders.
