Gifted came together during the early part of 2001. Our first events at the 1600 capacity Matrix Club in Reading featured collaborations with other party providers like The Boutique, MTV and Serious as well as hosting DJs such as Norman Jay, Fatboy Slim, The Chemical Brothers, Felix da Housecat and many others. Programming three rooms of music on a weekly basis enabled us to explore other different genres of music with residencies as part of Gifted including Keb Darge's Legendary Deep Funk and Valley Moods who brought us Deep House with guests including The Inland Knights (Drop Music) and Chris Duckenfield. After 3 years of parties we moved on from the Matrix and staged events everywhere from London to Leeds and Italy to Austria...
Since July 2006 our home has been at Mango in Reading. Recently voted the Number One Dance Venue at the Reading Bar Awards for the second year running. It really is an intimate and friendly venue with a top class sound system. We have already welcomed Tania Von Pear (Ministry of Sound), King Roc (Mutual Society) and Jnr J (Jamm) to Mango with more fresh DJS each month. Supported by Gifted DJ Rick Maia (Going Places @ Egg,) as well as featuring extras for the Gifted faithful whether it's Drums, Live Sax from Half a Note Jack or a visit from some of our VJ friends.During the summer we feature a unique and diverse range of sounds in the Garden from Lost Classics to Hip-Hop and Dub. There really is something special about busting some shapes in the open air, which is why we're lucky to also have a residency at The Notting Hill Carnival. For the last 3 years we have taken over The Skiddaw Pub in W9, put a system in the garden and played loud House Music all afternoon and late into the night, dancing on every available surface!
Gifted is also now set to feature... En la sala mas "Cool" de Lloret de Mar in Spain todos los Viernes from 26th Sept! Our new residency is at the stylish Beach Club in Lloret de Mar, featuring the freshest International and Spanish DJs... Nos vemos en la pista!!We are all about Fresh and Underground Grooves and a relaxed attitude.
