Dan Heath with the Paradise Band

About Me

No band does the "Great American Songbook" quite like Dan Heath with the Paradise Band. Surround a fine vocalist with the finest musicians and you get a great performance. Whether it's Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Bobby Darin, Nat King Cole, the Beatles and Elvis, this band really strikes the right chord with the audience. The band consists of Dan Heath on vocals, Steve Walley on keyboards, David Blackwell on sax/clarinet, Bob Ferguson on guitar, Brad Kuhns on bass, Matt Murdock on trumpet, and Terry Vaughn on drums. Dan Heath was selected as a quarterfinalist in the prestigeous Savannah Music Festival's American Traditions Vocal Competition during the summer of 2006. Steve Walley, David Blackwell and Bob Ferguson all have their master's degrees in music education or music performance. Brad Kuhns plays bass in the Fort Wayne Philharmonic as well. Matt Murdock is currently preparing his doctoral thesis in music education while Terry Vaughn is a band director in a local school system.

Band Members: Dan Heath on vocals Steve Walley on piano/keyboards Matt Murdock on trumpet/fluglehorn David Blackwell on sax/clarinet Terry Vaughn on drums Brad Kuhns on bass Bob Ferguson on guitar
Influences: The band is heavily influenced by the songs of the 20th century's great crooners. Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, and Bobby Darin comprise the bulk of songs performed by this band. But the band also performs some of the great songs of Broadway. The band works to make certain each set contains a variety of dance tempos for the enjoyment of ballroom dancers. Some 60's and early 70's music rounds out the band's playlist.
Sounds Like: Bobby Darin, Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Dean Martin, the Beatles and Elvis!
