VEDA is Nadia Clark (vocals) and Grant Baldwin a.k.a. phontaine (guitar, bass and DJ). The two met in 1998, through a mutual friend in a parking garage in Vancouver. Veda was formed then and there, writing the song "Sour Milk" within a couple of hours.Living in different cities, they continued to write and record, creating material reflective of the experiences in their lives, producing a smooth acoustic-electronic sound which encompasses their repertoire.
MIRIKA, her eclectic style, emotive lyrics and magnetic presence can silence a room. Whether sitting down at her guitar, working with producers, or in collaboration with other artists, Mirika's diverse talents acclimatize to a variety of venues, audiences and musical genres. Her professional and unique strengths have earned her studio and live performances throughout North America and the Czech Republic. She was named 2002 Quebec songwriter of the Year (Mix96).Valuing artistic development over commercial success, Mirika began gathering the experiences necessary for the creation and release of her independent 2005 debut album, "Your Absence Kills Cities." Her experiences include over nine years of active involvement as a front-woman and solo artist, as well as travelling, writing and engagement in social issues in order to create music that people will remember.
