The Day Jobs

We use only the finest quality hooks and riffs.

About Me

The Day Jobs first surfaced in June of 1999, formed out of the ashes of 2 prominent Albany area bands, The Explosives and Lughead. A phone call from a mutual friend introduced Rich Baldes, guitarist and singer armed with Lennon & McCartney chops, to Dan Bell, who had made a name for himself as the focused, hard pounding drummer of Lughead. A revolving door of bass players (curiously all named Mike) has once again brought ex-Bloom and Lughead bassist Mike Pauley back into the fold.

Since their inception, the band has been recognized for their tight live performances and Baldes’ song writing prowess, earning them Metroland Magazine’s “Top Pop Band” honors and supporting spots on bills with Frank Black, Superdrag and the Figgs.

Their devotion to melody and song writing has been wildly appreciated by fans of the Jam, XTC, Elvis Costello and lovers intelligent pop throughout the northeast.
